This weekend marks the 182nd annual general conference for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Millions of church members, as well as the general public are invited to hear inspired messages during the two-day conference on how to improve our lives through living the gospel of Jesus Christ. These messages will be available live through internet broadcasts, television, satellite and radio where the messages will be translated in over 94 languages. Archives of the conference will be made available shortly after the conference in HTML, PDF, audio and video in 82 different languages and comprises over 102,000 different audio and video files. The five two-hour conference sessions will be held in the LDS Conference Center, an impressive facility that houses 21,200 seats in the main auditorium. If you are ever in Salt Lake City, it’s worth your time to take the free tour of the conference center. It’s massive scale and technological capabilities are impressive.
Many years ago I was involved in a virtual tour project at my work (Brigham Young University). We were able to shoot many 360 panoramic photos of the LDS Conference Center. Here is one those photos delivered in an interactive viewer. Go full-screen to get a better idea of the scale inside this magnificent building.
