Adobe announced last night that their digital magazine development solution for iPad, the Personal Edition of their Digital Publishing Suite is now available through the Adobe Creative Cloud. The feature that really grabbed my attention with this release is the ability to submit an unlimited number of single edition apps to the Apple App Store. This is a boon to education! No longer are we required to pay $395 per edition to push free digital magazines to the iPad! As long as we have an Apple Developers account ($99) and have a subscription to the Adobe Creative Cloud we can create as many digital publications as we want! This is significantly less expensive that what was previously available with Adobe, and publishers get to continue to use the tools they know and love to do their creative work. Unfortunately, creating a digital magazine for Kindle, or Android is still only available the Pro or Enterprise editions of the Digital Publishing Suite. More information can be found on the Adobe Digital Publishing Suite website.
